A Paedophile sex offender Willy John Gillham who perpetrated egregious sexual assaults at a children’s home has been incarcerated.
Willy John Gillham, 64, perpetrated crimes including rape and indecent assault at the former Palmerston House children’s home located on Botley Road, Romsey, Hampshire.
Following his 15-year incarceration at Southampton Crown Court, the NSPCC stated that Willy John Gillham’s actions “betrayed [the victim] in the worst possible way.”
Willy John Gillham, who relocated to France, was convicted of indecent assault and three counts of rape for acts that occurred in the 1980s.
An NSPCC statement asserts that Willy John Gillham’s victim was in an environment that ought to have been completely secure.
“Instead, they were betrayed in the most egregious manner by an individual who was meant to safeguard them from danger.”
“The victim may have endured a prolonged wait for justice, yet it is partially due to their courage that Willy John Gillham was presented before the courts, serving as definitive evidence that it is never too late to disclose past abuse.”
“Sexual abuse devastates childhoods, and its profound effects can persist into adulthood without appropriate support.”
“We trust that the victim in this case has obtained the necessary assistance to progress in their life.”
