A Paedophile couple, Summer Andrew & Nick Barrett, who created a sex film in return for obscene photographs of youngsters could have their sentences doubled.

Last month, 23-year-old Summer Andrew & Nick Barrett were imprisoned for planning a sex crime commission.

Summer Andrew, of Old Road, Clacton, receives a three-year sentence after being found guilty by a jury despite denying the charge.

Nick Barrett admitted the charge as well as counts of having intercourse in front of a minor, breaking notification rules, and threatening to reveal a pornographic photograph.

If he is released, he will serve at least seven in prison and five more years on licence. He spent twelve years behind bars.

Data on the government website indicates a formal request has been made to the Attorney General’s office to review the sentence His Honour Judge Christopher Morgan issued.

Under the Unduly Lenient Sentencing Scheme, any public member can contact the Attorney General 28 days after a sentence.

The matter could be referred to the Court of Appeal if the punishment was insufficient in connection to the offence.

His Honour Judge Morgan found Nick Barrett, formerly of Clayton Road, Harwich, the main culprit when Andrew and Barrett were sentenced last month.

The judge said Nick Barrett scheduled the video conference with another Omegle website user.

After that, Summer Andrew & Nick Barrett engaged in a sex act while Barrett supported the user on the other side of the video chat to rape and sexually assault a young child.

Dealing with Barrett, the judge declared: “As far as you are concerned, you had, for a significant period – and at the same time of this offence – a clear interest in child sex abuse.”

Then he informed both of the defendants, Summer Andrew & Nick Barrett, he thought both of them knew a child the other Omegle user was abusing.

“I am happy that both of you would have known the age of the child meant to be sexually active under your encouragement,” he stated.

“You are looking directly at the camera, and I am satisfied you both knew what was happening.”

Later this year, a ruling on whether the punishments were excessively light is expected.
