Law enforcement officials have today expressed approval of the 13-year prison term imposed on a Middlesbrough man, Stephen Taylor, for sexual offences against minors.
Stephen Taylor was interviewed in July 2024 following the reporting of multiple incidents that transpired over several years from 2015 to 2024 to Cleveland Police.
The Cleveland Police’s specialised Children and Vulnerable Adults (CAVA) squad initiated an investigation, resulting in the arrest and charging of a 49-year-old individual with 17 crimes.
Stephen Taylor faced four charges of controlling or coercive behaviour, 12 charges of engaging in sexual contact with a minor, forcing a minor to observe a sexual act, and persuading a minor to participate in sexual activity.
On 19th August 2024, before Teesside Magistrates’ Court, he acknowledged guilt on all 17 charges and Stephen Taylor was remanded in custody pending his subsequent court appearance.
On Friday, October 18, 2024, Taylor received a 13-year prison sentence.
