Hull Crown Court heard Paedophile Simon Pritchett had to leave his room gazing at pictures of child molestation and ‘grab some fresh air’ at the coast, a loony Judge told him.
Simon Pritchett, 46, of Withernsea, East Yorkshire, accepted three crimes of creating indecent photographs of minors and another of possessing severe pornography, including animals.
Prosecuting Ben Hammersley claimed that police were notified of photos on the internet, including Snapchat, in February 2022 and visited Pritchett’s house.
They grabbed his laptop, cell phone, PC, and hard drive.
Mr. Hammersley added, “All four were found to have illicit images in varied numbers.”
Simon Pritchett, 46, acknowledged three offences of producing obscene photographs of children and another involving animal extreme pornography.
Children in the most severe Category A numbered 157 pictures (baby rape, breaking baby’s bones, child torture, animal and child photos and videos), 82 in Category B, and 91 in Category C. Images of bestiality also appeared.
Simon Pritchett had been slated to face a trial on August 27 but initially denied disseminating the pictures; that charge was dismissed.
He claimed to have been sent pictures by a stranger, closed them, and sent them back, instructing the Snapchat user to ‘f*** off’.
Later on, he claimed to have been emailed links but denied knowing of the obscene photographs and looked at them; he claimed to have deleted them when he saw they included children.
He admitted to being interested in bestiality.
Rachel Scott, mitigating, said that Simon Pritchett pleaded guilty and was willing to comply with a community order.
Simon Pritchett had no previous convictions.
Seemingly INSANE Judge Mark Bury told Simon Pritchett: ‘I suggest you get out more.
‘What you have been doing over 18 months is downloading and retaining indecent images of children and extreme pornography images.
‘You have no history of contact sexual offending. There is no suggestion that you are at risk of it.
‘You must understand that the seriousness of this offending is that each image that you have possession of represents an image of an abuse of a child.
‘Okay, you didn’t take the photograph of the abuse, and you, even less, were not the abuser, but if there weren’t a market for this sort of offending, then fewer children would be abused in the first place. That’s why it’s serious.’
Simon Pritchett was prepared to admit that he had an interest in bestiality.
‘You need to stop doing that as well,’ said the utterly mental Judge Bury.
Simon Pritchett lived in a coastal area, and he could do plenty of things to ‘get some fresh air and meet people’ rather than ‘sit in your room and access images like this’.
Simon Pritchett was given 30 days’ rehabilitation and a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
A deprivation order was made for his computer equipment.
‘You must put behind you this offending,’ said Judge Bury.
‘If there is any repetition of it, next time it won’t be a community order, it will be a prison sentence.’
