Selestine Madziwa Plumtree Rapist

A 42-year-old father from Plumtree, Selestine Madziwa, is accused of raping his daughter for three years, resulting in her pregnancy.

The issue was revealed before the Plumtree Magistrates’ Court yesterday, where the father appeared before Magistrate Joshua Nembaware.

He was not required to enter a plea to the rape charges and was remanded in custody until January 3.

The state said that in January 2013, the father, Selestine Madziwa, exploited the absence of the girl’s stepmother and repeatedly raped his daughter.

He threatened her against disclosing the incident to anyone, as it would result in his incarceration and cause her suffering due to his role as the primary provider.

The father repeatedly raped his daughter, resulting in her pregnancy in 2016.

The girl escaped to Botswana following childbirth.

On Christmas Day 2024, the daughter returned and encountered her father, Selestine Madziwa, in a business centre.

The father forcibly pulled his daughter into the underbrush with the intent to rape her once more.

The daughter successfully escaped and submitted a police report.
