A Dagenham Rapist, Sam Price , was sentenced to prison after meeting a woman in Romford, becoming physically abusive with her, and raped her in her home. Sam Price kept the woman from leaving her house amid a week-long spree of intimidation and harassment.

Sam Price, 25 (05.05.99), of Central Park Avenue, Dagenham, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, July 5, and was sentenced to ten and a half years in jail for rape and two charges of assault. He also received a lifelong restraining order and will be listed on the Sex Offenders Register.

On Sunday, July 16, 2023, Sam Price met a woman and exchanged information with her. Within days after meeting her, the abuse began. Sam Price repeatedly hit her, bit her, and made other threats against her. In addition to these attacks, he raped her.

The ordeal lasted seven days before Sam Price left the premises and the victim was able to call a friend, who alerted authorities. Officers arrived on the property. They worked quickly to gather CCTV footage, witness and victim statements. Price was arrested within days after receiving the report.

Sam Price was arrested at a Central Park Avenue house during a covert operation by the local search team, and he was later quizzed by detectives from the Met’s East Area Public Protection Unit on Wednesday, July 26.

He was found guilty of rape and one count of assault following a trial in the same court that concluded in April. Price previously pled guilty to another count of assault.

PC Ugne Draz, the victim’s Sexual Offences Liaison Officer, stated: “The victim in this case has demonstrated incredible courage throughout the inquiry.

“It has been a long journey to get this issue resolved. The victim bravely pushed through to see Sam Price brought to justice.”

Detective Constable Jess Stephens, who headed the investigation, said: “This is a positive outcome not only because we can conclude this case, but also because I hope it motivates more women to come forward and report these crimes.

“Tackling violence against women and girls is a priority and we are using all of the tactics at our disposal to target predatory men like Sam Price who pose the greatest risk.”
