A Sussex police officer, Richard Holder, has been dismissed without notice for engaging in prostitution while on sick leave.
Detective Constable Richard Holder of Sussex Police resigned before to his dismissal at a disciplinary hearing on Monday.
Ch Con Giles York said the hearing at force headquarters in Lewes that Richard Holder promoted services on the AdultWork.com website.
The Police Federation stated that Richard Holder acknowledged all claims and expressed remorse for his poor judgement.
He is the second officer of the Sussex Police to be apprehended for soliciting his services as a prostitute in under two years.
In December 2016, police officer Daniel Moss from Hastings was terminated after promoting himself as a male prostitute.
Last year, it was revealed that Insp Tony Lumb of Sussex Police may face criminal charges for allegations of engaging in sexual relations with women encountered while on duty.
Ch Con York stated that Richard Holder was receiving compensation for sexual activities at his residence while off duty and on medical leave.
He stated that his employment record indicated a “pattern of disruptive behaviour that has occasionally approached criminality.”
Matt Webb, leader of the Police Federation, representing Richard Holder, stated that he had “fallen on his sword.”
Mr. Webb stated: “He unequivocally acknowledges all of the allegations made against him.”
He adopted a realistic approach to these procedures and has resigned. He requested that I convey his apologies for his poor judgement.
