Barton on Sea Paedophile Peter Hannam, a former preacher from Huddersfield, has been incarcerated again on the report of an additional victim alleging sexual assault by him.
Peter Hannam (78) of Barton On Sea, Hampshire, has been incarcerated once more following his conviction at Leeds Crown Court for five indecent assaults committed on a young girl in Kirklees during the early 1980s.
Peter Hannam was sentenced to nine months in jail on September 25th for attacks committed against a female under the age of 16 between 1981 and 1983.
The 78-year-old had previously been convicted of 15 offences of indecent assault committed in the late 1970’s in East Yorkshire, against three young girls aged between nine and 15.
Peter Hannam was sentenced to two and a half years in custody at Hull Crown Court in January 2022.
The latest offences were reported to the Kirklees District Child Protection Unit in January 2022 after the victim saw publicity regarding Peter Hannam’s conviction.
Peter Hannam had been a pastor in Huddersfield when the Kirklees offences took place.
DC Paul Campbell of Kirklees District Police Child Safeguarding Unit, said: “I want to thank the victim in this second case for her bravery in coming forwards after seeing Peter Hannam’s original conviction, and reporting what he did to her.
