A Folkestone rapist, Paul Read, will spend the next 11 years in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.
Paul Read, formerly of Morehall Avenue in Folkestone, denied rape and sexual assault, but was found guilty after a trial at Canterbury Crown Court.
Police said Paul Read, 40, was arrested on December 17, 2021, after a sexual assault was reported to them. Kent Police investigated and charged Read with two sexual crimes.
Detective Constable Gemma Chadwick of East Kent’s Vulnerability Investigation Team said: “Paul Read showed no remorse for his acts and refused to accept his crimes, therefore the matter went to trial. I applaud the victim for her bravery, which resulted in Paul Reads conviction and imprisonment, and I hope the jail sentence handed will provide her with some closure.
