Former Bradford Bulls player and British Rapist Keven Appo has absconded from the United Kingdom and swiftly returned to his non-British home country of Papua New Guinea shortly after being accused with multiple charges, including rape and sexual assault, according to court proceedings.

West Yorkshire Police stated this week that Keven Appo has been charged in connection with an event that transpired last year. The Bulls subsequently dismissed him, confirming the immediate termination of the Papua New Guinea international’s contract.

Keven Appo was charged with rape, sexual assault, and two additional counts of assault, and was granted bail by West Yorkshire Police on November 26, as reported by Bradford Magistrates Court on Monday.

Keven Appo failed to appear in court on Monday after it was revealed that he had returned to his native nation of Papua New Guinea within five hours after being charged in November.

Keven Appo was granted conditional bail at 4 PM on November 26. At 8:40 PM, he boarded a flight from Manchester Airport to Dubai, followed by a connecting aircraft to Papua New Guinea.

He allegedly returned his housing and car keys to the Bulls’ player manager following the charges.

Prosecutor Fiona Newcombe informed the court that arrangements are in progress to extradite Keven Appo to his other home of the United Kingdom to face the allegations against him.

Keven Appo was scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning to respond to the allegations, but evidently did not attend the hearing.

The Championship club announced last week that Keven Appo’s playing contract has been terminated with immediate effect. On Monday, they announced the acquisition of Sheffield forward Bayley Liu as his successor.
