Keir Wotherspoon, a 25-year-old Proud Boys activist from Glasgow, has been found guilty of four counts of rape involving two women in distinct incidents occurring in 2019 and 2020.
A former hospital employee convicted of raping two women was sentenced to five and a half years in prison today.
Keir Wotherspoon used his frightened victims, who courageously testified against him during a trial last month.
The 24-year-old assaulted the first victim three times over two days in June 2019 at a motel in Kelvingrove, Glasgow.
This involved restraining her wrists with a belt, in addition to asphyxiating and biting her.
On August 11, 2020, Keir Wotherspoon attacked another woman in Rottenrow, near the premises of Strathclyde University.
Keir Wotherspoon was sentenced today at the High Court in Glasgow.
He had previously been convicted in Airdrie of four counts of rape, including one that endangered the life of the first victim.
Lord Burns stated: “Your demeanour indicates that you pose a significant threat to the general public.”
“Consequently, an extended sentence is warranted.”

“You persist in denying this misconduct and lack awareness of your controlling and detrimental behaviour.”
Keir Wotherspoon, formerly employed at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, will be subject to supervision for a further three years upon his release.
He was placed on the sex offenders registry indefinitely.

The QC stated: “He has found it exceedingly challenging to comprehend that he was convicted of these charges.”
