Former Coventry Paedophile police officer Jonathan McNeill was sentenced to 15 months in prison after confessing to collecting indecent photographs and videos of youngsters from the internet.
The 55-year-old individual, Jonathan McNeill, was apprehended on June 18 of the previous year at his residence on Lavender Avenue, Coventry.
Authorities conducted a search of his residence and retrieved computer hardware.
Jonathan McNeill, who was employed in Force Contact in Coventry at that time, retired early from the force in December.
Police retrieved 497 static and dynamic photographs from Jonathan McNeill’s phone and computer equipment. He confessed to three offences of producing obscene photos of children by downloading and storing them from the internet.
In September of this year, he was incarcerated at Wolverhampton Crown Court and placed on the sex offenders register for a duration of ten years.
Detective Helen Henry from the Public Protection Unit stated: “As a police officer, Jonathan McNeill was aware of the profound impact child abuse has on our society.”
“Individuals who download such images contribute to the global exploitation of children and will face stringent consequences.”
