A former police officer, PC Jodie Cleminson, cognisant of her boyfriend’s drug business would have been terminated had she not already quit.

Essex Police announced that PC Jodie Cleminson has been prohibited from rejoining any police force following her conviction for gross misconduct.

A court on 28 June determined that the former officer had consumed drugs and had informed her partner about police operations while he was engaged in drug selling.

Chief Constable Ben-Julian Harrington stated: “Her actions have offended and repulsed every member of Essex Police, and there is no role for her in law enforcement.”

Jodie Cleminson served as an officer from December 2019 until 2022, during which an investigation revealed her awareness of her boyfriend’s drug use.

She was aware that he was distributing drugs to others, and she was anticipated to act on that information but did not.

Mr. Harrington stated, “I wish to assure the public that the vast majority of officers, staff, and volunteers are committed to serving our communities with professionalism and excellence.”

Jodie Cleminson resigned from the police force in August 2022.
