A Swindon paedophile council worker, Jamie Osborn, has been sentenced to two years in prison for possessing thousands of distressing photographs and videos of child abuse on his computers.

Jamie Osborn, 41, of Gooch Street, Swindon, Wiltshire, accumulated a collection of media over seven years and disseminated it to like individuals online.

Canadian police alerted Wiltshire officers following the North American agency’s dismantling of a company distributing paedophilic DVDs globally.

Jamie Osborn, a sports assistant at Swindon Council, stated that he was disseminating the material as a courtesy to an online community that shared his interests.

Toronto officers conducted a raid on a company that sold DVDs and photographs. Jamie Osborn expended £650 on 25 films with the company.

Tessa Hingston, representing the prosecution, informed Swindon Crown Court that the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre received the original notification.

In December 2013, a search of his residence revealed the possession of over 250 movies and at least 2,450 images of mistreated children, with some victims as young as two years old.

Two computers were confiscated and discovered to contain the content.

His internet browsers included saved searches like ‘young boys sex’ and ‘naturalist boys.’

It was revealed that Jamie Osborn transmitted over 1,500 files via email to 16 distinct individuals he encountered online.

Ms. Hingston stated that five of the films transmitted over the Atlantic included prohibited content, while the remaining films depicted child nudity.

Jamie Osborn admitted admission to eight charges of creation, five charges of distribution, and one charge of possession of indecent photographs of minors.

Rob Ross, in defence, stated that his client had previously sought assistance for the issue from the Lucy Faithfull Foundation.

“All information regarding Mr. Jamie Osborn indicates to me that he has led a solitary existence for an extended period,” he stated.

He could separate his pleasure in viewing photos from any implication of considering physical interaction.

“Upon confrontation, he promptly sought guidance to realign himself.”

“Regardless of the sentence he receives, he will not be employed as a recreational assistant with Swindon Borough Council.” He must reconstruct his life at the age of 41.

Judge Peter Blair QC sentenced him to two years of incarceration, stating: “You are likely to be prohibited from ever working with children by the barring authority.”

He additionally instituted a sexual harm prevention order, limiting Jamie Osborn’s freedom for five years, and mandated that he register as a sex offender.
