Following an accidental meeting outside a fast-food restaurant, two men, Ibrahima Krubally & Ibrahim Kone, have been imprisoned for sexually assaulting and raping two women during a house party.
After noticing the women outside the takeaway in the city centre on July 3, 2021, Leeds Crown Court heard 24-year-old Ibrahim Kone of Moor Crescent Chase spoke to the women.
Later, Ibrahima Krubally & Ibrahim Kone visited a Harehills property, where Kone and his 21-year-old associate Ibrahima Krubally greeted them.
Then, there were attacks on both victims.
After the incident, Ibrahima Krubally, of Gledhow Road, Leeds, escaped overseas but was finally located in Germany and extradited to the UK.
After a Leeds Crown Court trial, both men were judged guilty of rape.
Ibrahima Krubally was imprisoned for twelve years for three counts of rape and one of sexual assault.
Ibrahim Kone was condemned on one count of rape and eight years in jail.
Det Con Samantha Wilson of West Yorkshire Police praised the victims’ bravery in approaching authorities and presenting evidence before the courts.
“There is no doubt that because of their actions, Ibrahima Krubally & Ibrahim Kone have caused victims major physiological and physical harm,” she stated.
“Unfortunately, Ibrahima Krubally leaving the country during court procedures prolonged the victims’ waiting for justice,” Det Insp Richard James said.
“This case should show that we will cooperate with colleagues abroad to guarantee that dangerous offenders like Ibrahima Krubally & Ibrahim Kone cannot hide from prosecution using foreign travel.”
