A 49-year-old Llanfairfechan Sex Offender, Ian Wynne Williams, has been sentenced to prison for breaking into a woman’s home and sexually abusing her while she was sleeping.
Ian Wynne Williams, of Mount Road, Llanfairfechan, broke into the woman’s home and stripped naked before entering her bedroom.
He appeared in Caernarfon Crown Court on Monday, July 8th, after being found guilty of sexual assault and knowingly trespassing with the intent to commit a sex crime.
The incident occurred in December 2022, when the woman was awoken by someone embracing her from behind. She shouted, alerting her son, who forcibly removed Ian Wynne Williams from the house.
Ian Wynne Williams was given ten years in prison. He was also given an indefinite restraining order not to contact the victim.
Detective Constable Jennifer Williams stated, “This was a very disturbing occurrence that occurred in the victim’s own home as she slept.
“This was a complete violation of her safety and has had a significant influence on her life.
“She has been extraordinarily brave throughout this investigation, and I hope the sentence gives her the certainty that Ian Wynne Williamswill no longer harm any women.
“I urge anyone who has been sexually assaulted to come out and get help. “We will listen and pursue offenders.”
