A Neath Port Talbot man has been imprisoned for several child sexual offences.
March 2019 saw Gareth Phillips, 32, from Skewen, have sex in his car with his then-14-year-old victim. Two months later, he started routinely seeing the same victim for sex. They officially started their relationship in November 2019, but Phillips advised the victim to keep this a secret.
While staying at a motel in May 2021, Phillips sexually assaulted the same victim.
Having been found guilty of four charges of sexual activity with a child and one crime of rape, he was sentenced to 10 and a half years in jail at Swansea Crown Court.
