A convicted Huddersfield Paedophile sex offender, Duane Holland , has had his prison sentence extended after being found guilty of additional sexual offences.
Duane Holland (38) of Huddersfield, who is presently in HMP Armley, was sentenced on Wednesday, July 10, at Leeds Crown Court after a jury found him guilty of non-recent sexual offences against two young boys.
The 38-year-old, Duane Holland , was already sentenced to 12 years in prison for other sexual offences in 2013, and that sentence has been extended by four years.
He was also subject to a five-year extended licence and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
In the most recent case, he was found guilty of one rape and three indecent assaults against two victims under the age of 16 between 2000 and 2004.
The new assaults were reported to police in 2020 when victims came forward as adults.
The Kirklees District Child Safeguarding Unit initiated an investigation, and officials flew outside of the country to interview one of the victims.
DC According to Paul Campbell, who lead the investigation, “Duane Holland ‘s conviction and sentencing today represents justice for both victims who have shown real bravery in coming forward and reporting the offending Holland committed against them.”
“One of the victims was residing in Sweden at the time the report was filed, but arrangements were made for me to speak with him there thanks to cooperation with policing colleagues.
“This case indicates that we will examine any reports submitted to us, regardless of when the offence occurred or if the victim is no longer in the UK.
“It also demonstrates that even if someone has been convicted of a crime, it is never too late to come forward and disclose what occurred.
“I’d like to underline that we are a victim-focused agency that will always listen to and investigate any reports of sexual offending.
“We can’t stress how important it is that serious offenders like Holland are made to properly account for what they have done, and that victims can know they have been listened to and provided with any support they might need.”
