Derry Tift paedophile rapist Coventry

For abusing three small children, a Coventry Paedophile Derry Tift has been sentenced to fifteen years in prison.

During a previous hearing at Warwick Crown Court, Derry Tift, 49, he admitted guilt to sixteen counts of sexual offences against three girls between 2001 and 2013, as well as three counts of producing obscene images of children.

Investigators from the Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team found the horrific events during a warrant search at Tift’s house address based on intelligence revealing he had been viewing pornographic images of youngsters online.

After the warrant, a Derry Tift abuse survivor boldly came forward to inform authorities of her experience during her earlier years.

Two further survivors came forward, motivated by the woman’s bravery.

Along with Tift’s computer and tools, police also found hundreds of graphic images of children.

On Monday, June 24, Derry Tift received an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a 15-year prison sentence at Warwick Crown Court.

“This case stresses the need to report sexual abuse, even if the offences are not recent,” said Detective Constable Clare Sherwin of our Public Protection Unit.

“Please report your survival of sexual abuse. We have a team of knowledgeable officials to help you and lead you across the legal process.

“We also work with a range of support groups with advisory capacity.

“Three women bravely came forward to speak to authorities, and I hope it encourages other sexual abuse survivors to do the same.”

It is essential to underline that survivors of sexual attacks have legal protection and are free to remain anonymous all their lives.
