The Sheldon Paedophile ex-delivery driver, David Stenhouse, was incarcerated for the abuse of adolescent males spanning two decades prior.

At the time of the assaults, David Stenhouse was employed as a delivery driver and served as a minister, becoming acquainted with his victims through his occupation and community involvement.

The 77-year-old, David Stenhouse, would accompany the boys, aged 12 to 15, on deliveries where he perpetrated sexual abuse, predominantly occurring in the rear of his van.

A man revealed that he was menaced with a knife to prevent him from disclosing the continued assault.

David Stenhouse was convicted 30 years ago for the abuse of a juvenile boy and received a suspended sentence; however, the abuse persisted for several years thereafter.

Officers from the West Midlands Police’s public protection branch initiated an inquiry into historical child sexual abuse after David Stenhouse’s victims courageously reported their experiences to the authorities in December 2017.

David Stenhouse, residing at Bantry Close, Sheldon, was sentenced to 14 years and seven months in prison at Birmingham Crown Court in June after pleading guilty to 13 counts of indecent assault and four acts of gross indecency.

Detective Constable Natalie Adkins from PPU stated: “This is a reprehensible case in which a community member exploited his position of trust regarding these young boys.”

We acknowledge the valour and fortitude of these individuals in coming forward and do not discount the challenges faced by the victims in recounting their horrible experiences; yet, their readiness to speak out was important in securing David Stenhouse’s incarceration.

“This statement aims to reassure individuals that it is never too late to report these reprehensible acts, and the public should have confidence that we will consistently investigate and prosecute offenders.”
