Daniel Peters paedophile sex offender Rishton

After confessing he had sexually assaulted a youngster in Cheshire, a former Northwich Paedophile, Daniel Peters, has been let to walk free from court by Judge Mental.

On Friday, June 21, Daniel Peters appeared at Chester Crown Court where he was sentenced to 24 months in prison suspended for two years. He also received orders for 180 hours of community service.

Originally from Northwich, but now of Hermitage Street, Rishton, the 35-year-old had earlier confessed to two counts of sexual abuse of a girl under 13 by touching.

Daniel Peters was a friend of the victim’s family, the court was informed during the hearing; the group frequently used to hang out together.

Regularly offering to take after the victim, Daniel Peters also had a small child of his own and took them on family day trips so she could spend nights at his place. But unbeknownst to the victim’s relatives, he also harboured a sexual attraction in the child.

Daniel Peters was driving the victim back to his Northwich house for an overnight in May 2020, which resulted in the first crime.

The two stopped into a layby as they were driving in his van and inappropriately groped her several times.

Later the same month, Daniel Peters and the victim’s family took a day excursion to Gulliver’s World. The youngster said how they were on a ride at the amusement park when Peters grabbed her from behind and forcibly groped her.

March 2023 saw Daniel Peters’ crimes exposed when the victim’s mother found many messages on her cell phone.

The victim spoke forward about what had happened following the discovery. Daniel Peters made a complete admission to the offences after being detained.

Following the sentence, Detective Constable Kelly Mankee of Northwich CID said: “The victim’s family really believed that they could trust Daniel Peters, he was a lifelong family friend, a former special constable and, also the parent of a young kid himself.

“The gang got together often, and kids used to spend nights sleeping over one another’s residences. Unbeknownst them, though, his actual motivation was to satisfy his own sexuality.

“He completely betrayed his position of confidence, and the victim and her family have suffered greatly as a result of his actions.

“I want to commend her for the bravery and courage she has exhibited throughout this inquiry; and I hope that Daniel Peters’ recent sentencing and responsibility for her crimes will provide some closure.”

Daniel Peters’ punishment included an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order as well as instructions to sign the sex offenders register.
