A former Paedophile police officer, Cliff Mitchell, who reportedly raped a woman at knifepoint informed his victim that he had planned the crime while he ignored her pleas to let her go, according to court documents.
In September 2023, the alleged victim claimed Cliff Mitchell approached her with a knife before tying her up with wire ties and taping her mouth shut.
In an emotional police interview shown before a jury at London’s Croydon Crown Court, she said that Mr Cliff Mitchell threatened to kill her.
The tape over her mouth slipped as she cried, but Mr Cliff Mitchell just kept reapplying it, she remembered.
The woman, who claimed to have “just blurred everything out” from that day, told the officers, “He told me to be quiet and not to scream.”
The woman stated she couldn’t believe what was going on and told him to leave.
She said, “He answered, ‘That’s not going to happen. I understand how victims act. “You’d say anything to stay alive.”
She also told officers, “He kept saying ‘I’m smarter than you think.'” This was preplanned. “He kept threatening me.”
Mr Cliff Mitchell, 24, of Wandsworth, south-west London, is accused of 13 counts of rape against two victims, violating a non-molestation order, and two acts of kidnapping. He has pled not guilty to all counts.
The woman claims that Mr Cliff Mitchell dragged her and another person into his car, and she escaped by claiming she needed to get out because she felt nauseous.
The court heard that she had bruises on her knees, a little scabbed and reddish area on her elbow, and scratches on her hip, which she said were caused by her falling down as she fled.
She lost her shoes when she fled the car.
“I ran, and no one would help.”
The court heard that members of the public saw her dashing through traffic.
In an earlier police interview, the woman stated, “I just ran, and no one would help.”
“He chased me with the knife, saying, ‘Come back to the car or I’ll kill (the other person in the car) right now.'” “I was very scared.”
The court heard that a passerby spotted what was going on and was able to get her into her vehicle.
Mr Cliff Mitchell served as a PC in the Met’s West Area Basic Command Unit. Prosecutor Catherine Farrelly told the jury that Mr Mitchell was “a serving officer with the Metropolitan Police” during the “latter part” of the alleged crimes.
I was dismissed from the force. After the allegations surfaced, he was suspended from the force and later sacked.
The charges against him include six counts of rape against a minor, three of which occurred when she was under the age of 13.
Three of the six rape allegations allege that the girl was assaulted on at least 30 prior occasions.
All of these alleged offences occurred between January 2014 and April 2017.
Mr Cliff Mitchell is also accused of raping a lady seven times between April 2020 and September 2023, violating a non-molestation order, and kidnapping twice.
The trial continues.
UPDATE 07.07.24 – 17 years and 225 days IN PRISON
At the Court of Appeal, a former Metropolitan Police officer who started a “campaign of rape” against his victims had his sentence doubled.
Between 2014 and 2023, Cliff Mitchell targeted two female victims with more than fifty sex attacks, including in September last year when he duct-taped a woman over her mouth and bound her with cable ties.
At Croydon Crown Court in May, the 24-year-old was sentenced to 13 years and 225 days, minimum.
Following a referral by the Solicitor General, justices at the Court of Appeal, on Thursday, extended this to a minimum term of 17 years and 225 days.
Cliff Mitchell’s request to have his sentence lowered based on his past excellent character, which was not considered in his initial sentence, was turned down.
The crimes of Cliff Mitchell were horrifying and profoundly upsetting. Over several years, he routinely mistreated his victims until they were silent.
