A garage owner from Haverfordwest, Ceri Morgan, has been subjected to what has been characterised as ‘very harsh bail terms’ following his appearance before a district judge on a rape charge.
Ceri Morgan, 61, of Haverfordwest Auto Centre, Cardigan Road, Haverfordwest, is charged with the alleged rape of a lady aged 16 or older, occurring between November 30 and December 31, 2009.
This week, District Judge Mark Layton relinquished jurisdiction over the case due to the gravity of the allegation, and the matter was referred to Swansea Crown Court, where hearings will commence on February 10.
Morgan was granted conditional bail, necessitating his residence at home, adherence to a 7:00pm–7:00am electronic curfew, avoidance of communication with the complainant, and the surrender of his passport at Haverfordwest police station.
