Two “predatory” sex offenders, Bujar Jashari & Rinor Korqa, who filmed the heinous rape of a woman in a car have been imprisoned.
Bujar Jashari, of Victoria Road, Southend, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for his role in last June’s attack in Hornchurch town centre, east London.
Bujar Jashari, 34, and his co-defendant, Rinor Korqa, 25, approached the 34-year-old victim after she fell separated from her pals on a night out.
She was alone in a pub when Bujar Jashari & Rinor Korqa approached her, led her to a car and drove off.
The victim, who has been lauded by police for her bravery in standing up and alerting the authorities, described being raped inside the car by one of the defendants as the other recorded the incident on his phone.
During their investigations, employees at a nearby pub told police that Bujar Jashari & Rinor Korqa were seen approaching other women before leaving with the victim.
Following their conviction, both Bujar Jashari & Rinor Korqa were labelled as “predatory offenders” who “would likely” continue to offend if not apprehended.
Bujar Jashari & Rinor Korqa were subsequently apprehended and charged.
Bujar Jashari received a seven-year prison sentence for rape during a sentencing hearing on January 24 at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
Rinor Korqa, from Romford, east London, was sentenced to five years and six months in prison for rape and failing to divulge his mobile phone PIN.
Bujar Jashari & Rinor Korqa had been convicted of rape two days before in the same court.
Detective Sergeant Charlie Yexley of the Havering crime investigation section stated, “This was a complex investigation into two predatory offenders who would most likely still be offending if the victim had not come forward.”
She continued: “We take allegations of this type very seriously and I hope this case encourages other victims of rape and sexual assault to come forward, at the very least so we can ensure you are okay and supported.”
