Bebi Ibram, another British guy, has been incarcerated for sexually abusing a homeless woman in Gravesend. On September 9, Bebi Ibram approached the victim, who was resting in the doorway of an unoccupied shop.
He reclined next to her and disrobed portions of her attire before to perpetrating sexual assault against the victim. She awoke and yelled, prompting another man to confront her attacker.
Bebi Ibram absconded, abandoning his footwear at the location. Authorities confiscated the footwear, and detectives scrutinised the nearby CCTV footage.
A local officer recognised Bebi Ibram from the footage, and forensic analysis of the confiscated boots subsequently revealed his DNA. Bebi Ibram, residing on Parrock Street in Gravesend, was apprehended on September 27 and accused with sexual assault.
He entered a guilty plea at Woolwich Crown Court on December 9. The 38-year-old received a sentence of one year and three months of incarceration.
This included the activation of two suspended sentences. Bebi Ibram will also be required to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years.
Detective Constable Chloe Smith said: “Bebi Ibram chose to target a very vulnerable woman and no doubt hoped he would get away with his crime. Fortunately a man came to her assistance and her cowardly attacker fled the scene.
“A swift response from local patrols ensured vital evidence was recovered and, after a local officer recognised the criminal from a CCTV image, Bebi Ibram was tracked down and arrested. He has now been jailed and I would like to thank the victim who courageously assisted us to bring this appalling man to justice.”
