Andrew Magee Widnes Paedophile

A Widnes Paedophile, Andrew Magee, molested a teenage girl on a campsite while her family slept nearby in a tent.

Andrew Magee, of Widnes, was a family friend who was staying at the property with the 15-year-old and her family. Chester Crown Court heard that the gang had been socialising around a campfire.

All of the other members of the group eventually left and went to bed, leaving only the 41-year-old and the victim. Andrew Magee had been complementing the adolescent all night, but when the two were alone, he began to touch the victim, first laying his hand on the victim’s leg.

Andrew Magee then grabbed the victim’s hand and led her across the campsite, raping and sexually assaulting her while her family slept in a nearby tent. The teenager was too terrified to speak anything at the time, but she later told her father what happened.

The victim’s father contacted Andrew Magee via Facebook, and he acknowledged to having sex with the victim at the campsite. The event was reported to the police, and Andrew Magee was later interrogated and charged with various crimes.

Andrew Magee, of Browning Way in Widnes, was convicted of three charges of rape and one act of sexual assault by penetration. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison on Monday, March 25, at Chester Crown Court.

In addition to his prison sentence, Andrew Magee was given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and was required to sign the sex offenders register for life.

Following his imprisonment, Detective Sergeant Anthony Evans stated: “Andrew Magee was a close family friend, and he was well aware that the victim was just 15 years old, but he decided to rape the teenager. His actions have had catastrophic implications for the victim and her family, but thanks to her fortitude and bravery, Andrew Magee is now facing the consequences.”
