Two young girls were sexually abused on buses within an hour by a vicious Nonce, and Brockley Paedophile, Andrew Godman, who has now been imprisoned.
Following a trial at Woolwich Crown Court, 34-year-old Andrew Godman of Salehurst Road, Brockley, was convicted guilty of the disgusting offences he perpetrated in South East London.
Monday, August 19, 2019, saw the same court set his punishment of three-and-a-half years’ imprisonment. Along with a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), Andrew Godman was banned from utilising two South London bus routes and from sitting next to or contacting girls on public transport.
The victims both were 13 years old. Each time, Andrew Godman sat next to the victim, shutting her in by the window seat and subjected her to a protracted sexual assault. The acts were conducted on the afternoon of November 15, 2018.
The first crime was carried out on a Route 126 bus approaching Eltham. It was busy. The attack lasted almost half an hour, during which the victim implored Andrew Godman to stop numerous times and attempt to subtly get the attention of other passengers so they would assist.
About half an hour later, Nonce Andrew Godman got on a Route 273 bus at Lewisham’s Grove Park.
Before the victim got off at an earlier stop than she expected to escape him, Andrew Godman was seen on CCTV touching the thigh of the second victim in an assault lasting almost five minutes.
The Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command conducted an inquiry following both reported instances to police.
Days following a media appeal featuring a man sought for publication, information was gathered regarding a potential suspect, and police visited Andrew Godman’s address, which led to his arrest.
Andrew Godman confessed it was him seated on the bus with the two victims during police questioning but denied having sexually assaulted them. He was shown CCTV of the crimes.
Wednesday, February 13, saw Godman charged with two counts of sexual assault; he first appeared before Bromley Magistrates’ Court the next day.
