The court found a Paedophile from Bognor, Andrew Chambers, guilty of online preying on young females. For the acts committed between 2016 and 2020, 33-year-old Andrew Chambers of Oakley Road received a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Lewes Crown Court heard about Chambers’ use of social media in the hunt for his victims.

After trying to get one girl to visit his place for sex, he went on to expose himself to five other girls and sent pictures and videos of him improperly touching himself.

For his pleasure, he would also ask them to remove their clothing and strike a posture for pictures.

Cleaner Andrew Chambers was arrested on January 26, 2018, and freed under tight bail terms while a thorough investigation into the several charges was underway. Detectives compiled the data needed to guarantee a successful conviction.

After seizing and looking over his devices, police discovered Facebook Messenger images and sexually explicit conversations directed to his victims.

He was subsequently charged with two counts of engaging in sexual communications with a child, two counts of causing or inciting sexual activity with a child, one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and one count of making a child view or look at a sexual image.

On October 17, Andrew Chambers entered a guilty plea for all offences; on December 5, Lewes Crown Court gave him two years’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.

His 10-year SHPO greatly limited his access to children and vulnerable groups.

The order also means he will have limited access to the internet, and should he fail to notify authorities of any change of circumstance, such as new employment, he might find himself imprisoned.

Besides paying a victim surcharge, Andrew Chambers was also directed to complete three hundred hours of unpaid work and rehabilitation programmes.

He was also registered on the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years, which obliged him to provide police with specific personal information and details meant to lessen his capacity for harm.

“Andrew Chambers exploited the weaknesses of these young victims for his sexual gratification,” Detective Sergeant Elaine Keating said.

“This SHPO will let us watch his community activities and guarantee he follows the rules.

“I want to thank all six courageous girls for reporting the events, assisting our research and enabling the justice process for Andrew Chambers. Without their bravery and strength, this outcome would not have been conceivable.
