A mother, Amanda Hutton, who abandoned her infant son’s corpse to decompose in his cot for over two years has been RELEASED from incarceration.
Amanda Hutton received a 15-year sentence for multiple charges of severe child negligence and one count of manslaughter following the discovery of Hamza Khan’s death, which was found holding his beloved toy.
The four-year-old, discovered clad in a babygrow intended for a six to nine-month-old, succumbed to starvation.
The Ministry of Justice reported that Amanda Hutton was freed on licence after serving seven years of her 15-year sentence and will complete the remainder of her term in the community.
The mother of eight was convicted in 2013 after the gruesome discovery of a child’s body decomposing and infested with flies at her residence in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
At that time, five additional children resided in the home and were exposed to the unsanitary circumstances.
In 2013, officials were interrogated over the circumstances that permitted the family to descend into profound neglect.
Despite Amanda Hutton and her family being recognised by numerous authorities, including the police and social services, Bradford council acknowledged that none were listed on the “at risk” register.
A neighbour notified social services about the state of the residence six months prior to the discovery of Hamzah’s death.
He lodged a complaint with the authorities regarding dirty nappies being discarded in his garden.
Disturbing images from within the residence depict heaps of refuse and deplorable conditions.
Police discovered five youngsters, aged between five and eleven, during a search of the residence.
The Bradford Crown Court was informed that the children had signs of malnutrition, as well as head lice and fungal illnesses in their nails.
Some individuals, despite being of school age, were attired in nappies and seemed to ascend the stairs on their hands rather than walking.
Amanda Hutton was recognised as an alcoholic but dismissed the notion that she prioritised consuming vodka over the care of her children, as presented in court in 2013.
At that time, she maintained that Hamzah, who was discovered to be severely underweight, had always been merely a slender child.
Amanda Hutton reportedly had a contentious relationship with Hamzah’s father, Aftab Khan, who asserted that he notified the police for the child’s welfare in 2008.
Tariq Khan, Amanda Hutton’s eldest son, informed probation officers that his mother brandished a knife at the throat of one of the children two days following Hamzah’s demise, as presented in court.
He further stated that his mother threatened to incinerate the house.
A representative from the Ministry of Justice stated: “Offenders released on licence are subject to stringent conditions and may be reincarcerated at any moment.”
