The 23-year-old Alexander Westwood’ who has participated in many stage and television plays such as Sex Education, Outlawed, and Doctors, appeared in court yesterday in a formal suit.

The public gallery had several members of his alleged victim’s family.

A trial date was fixed for November 4, 2024; however, on bail, the actor, Alexander Westwood, will reappear before the court in December.

Judge Rhona Campbell urged the CPS to streamline the 41 counts and charges before the next hearing.

UPDATE 1

Jurors were informed that he communicated to one purported victim: “I apologise for behaving in a predatory manner.”

Peodophile Alexander Westwood, from Albrighton, Shropshire, stated that his father compelled him to write it and that he did not intend “predatory” to imply a sexual connotation.

Alexander Westwood, who further featured in BBC’s Doctors, refuted allegations of sexually abusing a student during one of his acting lessons.

He told Wolverhampton crown court: “I did make an inappropriate comment, but it was not sexual.”

Prosecutor Andrew Wallace said: “He wrote letters, in his own words, describing himself as a predatory.

“He wrote to his victim ‘first and foremost I apologise’ now he is accusing her of being a liar.

“He continued ‘I apologise for being so irresponsible inconsiderate. I apologise for everything, I really do. I cannot imagine the effect it must have had on you.”

He denies all 26 charges faced, including several counts of rape.

UPDATE 2

The parents of Albrighton actor Alexander Westwood, who is accused of 26 sex crimes, have given evidence in his defence.

Theresa and Clive Westwood were the final two witnesses in the court case at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

The court heard Alexander Westwood’s father told him to write a letter apologising for his behaviour to one of his victims and her mother.

UPDATE 041224

The jury in the trial of the Albrighton Paedophile actor charged with the sexual abuse of children and adolescent actors is deliberating his innocence or guilt.

Alexander Westwood, 24, known for his role in the Netflix series Sex Education and various other performances, faces 26 distinct counts involving a boy, a girl, and aspiring actors whom he instructed.

The charges encompass rape, penetration assault of a girl under 13, exposure of a minor to pornography, and inappropriate contact of a girl under 13’s private parts.

The seven men and five women have reviewed four weeks of material, which includes viewing film of the complainants’ police interviews and hearing testimony in court.

FINAL UPDATEGUILTY

Paedophile Alex Westwood’s family and friends were aware of his deviant tendencies and he was committing sexual assaults on other children from age ten years of age.

Images from Alex Westwood’s public Instagram have emerged during his four-week trial for abhorrent sexual offences against women and children; however, some resonate differently now that he has been convicted.

The “predatory and manipulative” actor is confronting an extended prison sentence following his conviction for 26 sexual offences against women and children on Tuesday, December 10.

The 24-year-old, Alex Westwood, from Albrighton, Shropshire, was convicted of all charges, including the rape of a minor during acting training, after a four-week trial.

Wolverhampton Crown Court was informed that he compelled students in his theatre class to recite Shakespeare while unclothed and also participated in nude role-playing activities.

The actor, known for his role in BBC’s Doctors and as an uncredited student in Netflix’s Sex Education, sexually attacked one girl over a seven-year span and recorded a blossoming young actress nude on his iPad.

Jurors were informed that he had exhibited predatory sexual behaviour throughout childhood, with his criminal history commencing at the age of ten.

Through out the course of his trial, pictures began to surface from his public Instagram – featuring some of his past works and trips to premiers. But some of them hit a strikingly different tone in light of his predatory actions.

One photo shows him posing for selfies with beloved British actor Asa Butterfield, who played a lead role in Sex Education, while Alex Westwood appeared only in the background.

Others showed him dressed as iconic characters popular films and TV shows – including one of him dressed like David Tennant’s tenth doctor from the BBC series Doctor Who – which may have inspired the actors choice of coat for his trial.

Another, which set a stomach-churning tone following the conviction was a snap of him dressed like the children’s fairy-tale character Peter Pan, who whisks kids off to Neverland to never grow up. Alex Westwood played the leading role in Peter Pan The Musical at Birmingham’s Blue Orange Theatre back in 2018.

Prosecutor Andrew Wallace said: “When giving acting lessons, he again used this as an opportunity to touch his pupils inappropriately. These are schoolgirls we are talking about, teenagers. Imagine asking Dame Judi Dench to recite Hamlet naked – she would tell you where to go.”

Alex Westwood sexually assaulted and raped one pupil who described how he would hold her down by the wrists, forcing her to bite him to get away. He also called the police on one of his victims whilst harassing her.

When one of the girls complained to her parents about his behaviour Alex Westwood told her mum she owed him £18,000 due to the contract he made her sign, including a clause which said she had to pay for missed lessons. His victims watched on in horror as he continued to work on television and frequently boasted about having stars as friends on social media.

After parents reported Alex Westwood to the police, so did the college he was teaching at, and from his first police interview he lied and blamed the victims. Mr Wallace told the court: “Alexander Westwood is a supreme manipulator. “All these charges have a common theme, of inappropriate touching and predatory behaviour.”

Instead of pleading guilty to the raft of sexual abuse and rape charges the actor lied to the bitter end, forcing his victims the horrific ordeal of facing him in court.

After cross-examination by Alex Westwood’s lawyer James Bloomer KC, several of the young women giving evidence against him left the court in floods of tears. Westwood looked on from the dock, showing no emotion. He will be sentenced on February 25 next year.
