An abhorrent Paedophile carer from Paisley, Alexander Elliott, has been sentenced to two years in prison for sexually assaulting a disabled individual in his care.

Alexander Elliott also singled out one of his girlfriend’s relatives and a 15-year-old girl. The individual, aged 34, received a sentence for the offences committed from 2018 to 2021 at Paisley Sheriff Court.

Additionally, he was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years. According to the Daily Record, Alexander Elliott was convicted by a jury earlier this year after a trial, although denying any wrongdoing.

In 2019, the court was informed that the caretaker targeted his girlfriend’s relative. He reached out to the woman and transmitted a message that was explicitly sexual, obscene, and indecent in content.

In both January 2018 and January 2021, he regularly victimised a crippled guy under his care. The court was informed that the victim was wheelchair-bound and required assistance with numerous household activities at his residence in the town of Renfrewshire.

Due to his difficulty, he needs assistance from Alexander Elliott to bathe. Alexander Elliott helped him shower as he was seated on a shower chair. According to the court, he repeatedly made “inappropriate and sexual comments” directed at the man.

The jury removed allegations that he intentionally directed water from the shower at the man’s genitals and made a sexual comment from the charge when they found him guilty. Subsequently, he proceeded to engage in sexual assault on a 15-year-old girl from May to June 2021.

The individual in question removed the bed covers, made physical contact with her body, engaged in sexual rubbing, and also transmitted sexually explicit messages to her. The jury determined that the messages were intended to obtain sexual pleasure or to humiliate, distress, or terrify the recipient. They also found that the messages were of a vulgar, sexual, and obscene nature.

Defence solicitor Gemma Elder had requested that Alexander Elliott, who has been held in custody since being found guilty, be exempted from imprisonment. According to her, the initial wrongdoer was afflicted with sciatica and was rendered unable to work; however, they may engage in unpaid labour as a substitute for incarceration.

She requested that he be subjected to a “high-tariff” Community Payback Order, which would assign him the highest possible amount of unpaid work hours and the most extended term of supervision.

She suggested that he may have been subjected to a Restriction of Liberty Order involving an electronic monitoring device and a daily curfew at home for a substantial duration.

Sheriff Hugh McGinty, during the sentencing, stated that the defendant had been found guilty of transmitting explicit and sexually suggestive texts to a family member of his girlfriend. You served as a carer for an individual who had a disability and required substantial support. However, throughout the process of washing him, you made inappropriate sexual remarks towards him.

“You engaged in sexual abuse of a minor when she was 15 years old and subsequently engaged in sexually explicit communication with her.” The underlying factor is that all of your targets showed significant susceptibility, and regrettably, for them, you held a position of reliance in their eyes. I firmly believe that imposing a prison sentence is the most suitable course of action.

Sheriff McGinty determined that the crimes were of significant gravity and retroactively set the commencement of the prison sentence to July 2023, the date on which the jury convicted the defendant.
